Busy and Enjoyable Day

Up early this morning as hubby was in Chersty again so I got on with the alterations that came in yesterday. I completed all three dresses by 10am.

Postman rang the bell and went I answered he said sorry I thought I had a parcel for you holding a blue packet but it wasn't....I'll look in the van and come back if I have....Well he did come back hubby has been ordering from Bears by Mail again......but I'll just have to wait as it was addressed to him.

We went out and got Bex school trousers and I shorted them and halved the size of the waistband as Bex likes hipsters trousers and they seem hard to come by now. And also shortened Mills school trousers.

While out a new 70% off bookshop has opened in Bexleyheath so I can not resist as you know if you follow my blog Bex did try and stop me out I came with yet another book only £3.90. Over to Sussex bookshop and yes yet another book ......but I did go in to look for this book as i was it a while ago in the shop but was in a hurry so I glad they still had it.

Enjoyed playing on the Wii carnival games again.

A very enjoyable Day

Day starts early again with hubby working in Chertsy and I think the rest of the week will be early starts too!! I'm thinking about buying him a bike for Xmas LOL!!

Came back sat down and drank my tea and then finished the ironing so I cloud have a clear room to do the bridesmaid alteration. I finished the alteration by 10am and all went very well no problems I had to shorten the straps and the length.

Bex got up about 10 and played on the Wii for a while. I made a start on finishing the Babe doll I started a couple of weeks ago and hoping to have it finished by September, I attached the hair and threaded all the loose ends and cut off the surplus. While tidying up I came across a babe doll that I started knitting when I first got the book so I'm hoping to finish that one too for Mills. I also came across the quilt that I MUST finish before Christmas I'm busy looking for beads or buttons to embellish it with. ( Mills Quilt.....I just noticed while looking at an old blog that I used to do this was a challenged to be completed by Xmas 2007- well I obviously failed miserably there!! that was dated 28th July 2007, although a lot has happened since then!!!, so it SHALL be finished by Xmas 2008 and I think Mills may celebrate! and I wouldn,t blame her)

Had great fun on the Wii playing a new game that hubby brought in Norwich as the girls wanted an accessories pack and as it was two for £30 we suggested getting a game I enjoyed the most was A Day at the Races, such good fun, I recommend this game very much so much variety and such good fun especially as a family.

Kathryn turned up at 11am as booked for dress alterations. She brought me three dresses to alter two to be tapered on the sides and one to take up the shoulders. We had a lovely chat about Munich and the girls and education. She has three boys herself all grown up well her eldest will br going to 6th form.

The day was also spent trying to get this blog up to date with all the holidays too! But |I am also enjoying the last week with the girls before they go back to school.

Fairly Busy

Days starts at 5:50am as hubby is working in Chertsy today so I will get a fair amount done today.

There's plenty of washing and ironing to catch up on, with going away and then again straight away with a night in Norwich as a family...... Elephant exploring but well worth it as it a fabulous time... nothing planned now (well at the moment!!)

So after 7 washing loads all the washing is done. I managed to get 6 loads pegged out and almost dry so ironed most of it and finished the towels and underwear in the tumbler... so all up to date until next week!!! Washing / Ironing is just like a roundabout it never stops sometimes I just wish for throw away clothes or self cleaning clothes...well that's just wishful thinking!!!

A customer booked in for today turned up on time, a bridesmaid dress needed shortening and also the straps shortening, so I hope to do that tomorrow.

Bex was a friends for most of the day , Mills was very good and spent time studying and at 4:00pm we went Sainsbury shopping.

Well that was my day not very exciting but nice to report anyway as sometimes life can seem quite monotonous but when reading other blogs you then realize its all part of life that's why i like to try and blog most days.

Norwich Photos

Go Elepants Trail goes on.....

It was great fun hunting them out trying to spot them. I have to either make a papier mache elephant or probably in my case sew one in calico and decorate it. A good fun project, another project to add to the never ending list.

Go Elephants!!! Norwich

Following the Trail around Norwich.

There were lots of little Elephants hidden in various places but we did not have a map or any idea where they were, Bex actually spotted the first one in Jarrolds window and between the girls they spotted a few more a long the way.

Had a fabulous weekend with lots of exercise as well as coffee breaks but we managed to photo and admire over 50 of the elephants. We stayed in the Premier Inn which I think was a great location parking nearby which is free of charge with the Premier Inn (So we saved £10 - car parking free the whole time we were in Norwich).

We had breakfast in the morning eat as much as you like £7.50 but I liked it better at Liverpool Premier inn as the cooked you helped yourself but with Norwich its a much smaller restaurant and we had to order the cooked but you still helped yourself to croissants, muffins, fruit cereal, toast etc.. juice and coffees etc.... There are three choices for breakfast 5:50 for continental yourself as much as you like and also 2:95 for a grab and go breakfast although the latter two are not advertised so much!

Took over 200 photos and look forward to doing another trail sometime next year hopefully I will come across one ; Superlambananas in Liverpool I knew about since we were having a holiday there the Go Elephants Trail ame across while on the net - actually I was trying to find a sewing pattern for a superlambanana and come upon the Go Elephants Trail??? But great find as I really enjoyed hunting them out and taking photos it was a great weekend --- I'm not so sure about the rest of the family was so pleased that I came up with this wonderful walking weekend LOL.. They seemed to have a nice time anyway!! I will put the whole of the trail we did on my holiday blog.
Aren't these Ellies just so Cool?

If only I had the space and also could affort to bid for them wouldn't that be so brill.

The weather was fairy good although it was raining first thing Sunday which made hubby a little grumpy but not that much especailly as I wanted to try and complete the trail . The rain did ease off a lot after a coffee and rest break in Nero for 20 minute, fabulous we were qble to carry on our trail.

Oh no even more book from The Works in Norwich.....I cannot pass a bargain book shop!!
They only cost be £4.97 for all three.

We left Norwich 3:30 and arrived back home by 5:17 ready to relax and put our feet up for the evening. We did do a lot of walking over the weekend. I did hint at going to Great Yarmouth as love the 2p push machines (and the girls do too!) But it was a little too late really and I think hubby was a little tired too and he was doing the driving.

Thursday

Leaving Munich today so spent the morning around the town and had lunch around the Marienplatz, quite expensive place to eat but it was a lovely atmosphere and made the last day fabulous and wanting to return sometime again. The historic carved figures of the Glockspiel in the town hall tower come alive while having lunch so the square was pretty crowed with people filming and taking pictures.

Tuesday

Neuschwanstein and Ludwig ll
A daytrip from Munich to Fussen in the Schwangau is an unforgettable experience.
We booked this trip on line before we went, definitely worth it although you do need to be fit as the walk to the castle takes about 1/2 hour and is up hill. ( there is a horse and carriage and also a bus that will take you most of the way but not all for a cost.....the queues were
very long but we enjoyed a slow stroll up to Neuschwanstein)

The photos here are of Linderhof Castle the first stop on our day tour.

Wednesday

We covered such a lot today although very annoying that we could not find the beer garden that we wanted. When we arrived home and looked it up we were just so close!! Never mind its gives an excellent reason to go back one day. As Munich is such a wonderful, beautiful city just great for a long relaxing weekend.

Schwabing and University district
There is a lot a numerous museums, the university, polytechnics, colleges and libraries.

The Victory Gate-designed for victory parades in honour of the Bavarian army, the gate damaged in World War ll, has been restored. The 1958 inscription reads "Dedicated to victory, destroyed in war,an entreaty for peace"

Siegestor ( Victory Gate) Walking Man by J Borofsky
Schwabing has plenty of shops, and pavement cafes of which we enjoyed ice-cream sundae each even though it was only 10:30am. One of the routes highlights in the Walking Man (1995) a 17m (55ft)high sculpture.

Sendlinger Strasse and Sendlinger Tor
One of the oldest shopping streets with several traditional stores.
Olympiapark
We went to the Olympiapark did not go up the tower although it would have been nice but hubby seemed in a hurry to get a lot of things covered today. We went in the BMW showroom for a little bit but I'm not really into cars. After about 1/2 hour we left so didn't really explore that much but I must admit |I was not that impressed with the area and the tower did look like it was closed off as building works was going on.The shopping centre we visited after Olympiapark.
It was just another two stops that's all.
There is lots of shops and places to eat.
Hubby brought me my anniversary gift
a necklace and two charms.
Quite a nice shopping centre but with the pound pour against the Euro things are quite expensive and when prices are shown in both £ and E you can clearly see its cheaper in £'s. Not that we visited Munich for shopping! But a girl must see the shops!!

We ended the day in Munich town centre.

Monday

The day begins with a hop on and off tour that we booked before we went on the internet. An excellent tour that I would recommend to anyone.

So excited

Off to Munich tomorrow so getting packed and making sure everything is just so..... camera, extra cards, batteries charged, chargers, paperwork ect..

Just a lazy Day

I must start packing my case ready for Munich, I again have had another relaxing lazy day....knitting, playing on the Wii fit and trying to get my blog up to date!!

So not much to report today. Both the girls went round friends houses 11/12 noon until 5:45 when I went to collect them so I had great time on the Wii Fit as I get the best scores when I'm on my own. And I was able to concentration on my knitting too.

A customer came and collected the dress that I shortened yesterday and she gave me a tip too!!

Non stop all Day

Day starts early with making hubby's breakfast and lunch then dropping him off at the station. Come back and drink the tea he made me, sit down and look through M&M magazine and Lakeland before working through my list.

  1. Sew name tags on uniform and embroider initials
  2. Re-sew buttons on rain mac that I brought in Liverpool
  3. Pam's alterations three skirts to take in
  4. Phone Karen and let her know that her dress is ready for collection.
  5. Ironing and washing
  6. general housework
Well I completed all of the above tasks Pam's alterations taking most of the morning, but I didn't see Mills until 1:30 so I was able to work in peace as Bex kept her self busy watching the Olympics and then drawing. Bex went swimming this afternoon for one hour. Both the girls were really good today, Mills even tidied the lounge and made me a couple of drinks which was really lovely.

Used Digitizer sofeware today along with the janome 9000

Karen is collecting her dress tomorrow.
