King's Hospital

Went to Kings Hospital with hubby today for him to have some tests done. I went in the St John's Ambulance with him but was warned I make have to make my own way back but luckily they were still at the hospital as hubby's tests only took 45 minutes so I got a lift back too. All went well at the hospital and confirmed the diagnosis. We arrived back just as lunch had done its rounds so I went and brought him a cheese baguette and a latte which he really enjoyed. He making good steady progress and is certainly looking well in himself and has his appetite back which is lovely to see - he costing me a fortune now but I don't mind as he's on the way to recovery. I'm missing him so much.

I took the girls to get their eggs from Hotel Chocolat while there brought hubby a doughnut from Krispy Creme as I was going back up to see him to take him drinks and his mints and tell him about the phone call I had from a wife whose husband had recovered from GBS and how he will make a full recovery although it will be a long time. I put the girls dinner in and then went up to see hubby he was really pleased to see me again and he enjoyed the doughnut was a lovely surprise he said. I massaged his legs as they were aching at the back and then made sure he was comfortable in bed before I left. Oh I wish the healing time would hurry but patience is something I'm going to have to learn now and I will certainly look forward to the day he can come home.

The past week has had its ups and downs. But it seems to be getting better each day, the consultant was pleased with the progress and said another two weeks then he will be moving on the rehabilitation stage, which we know may be a long time but its going in the right direction which is the main thing.
